Fitzgerald's Men's Store is definitely a go-to spot in Grand Rapids if you're trying to elevate your wardrobe. They've got, you know, everything from super sharp suits to more relaxed, everyday stuff. Plus, having tailoring right there in the store is clutch – the little things really do make a difference, dont they? I hear they even have a barber, which is a cool touch.
Honestly, it sounds like the customer service is where Fitzgerald's *really* shines; people rave about how helpful the staff is. Ben, G, David, and Kurt get called out by name a lot, which probably says a lot about their salesmanship. It's all about the personalized attention, you know, having someone actually *help* you put together an outfit instead of just pointing you toward a rack and I hear they'll offer you a drink while you shop. Of course, some people do mention it can be pricey, but you're paying for quality and the experience, which, for some occasions, might be worth it.

I gather from what people say that they carry a ton of fly rods, reels, and all the things one might need to tie their own flies--which is awesome. Also, from what I hear, they do fly fishing classes, which could be super handy if you're trying to learn or improve your fly fishing skills, regardless of what level you're at. If you're on the hunt for clothes that'll hold up for anything outdoors, seems many people think Orvis is worth checking out.

Shakedown Street in Grand Rapids isn't your average store, you know? It has this long-standing reputation as a hippie haven, providing a really diverse collection of stuff for anyone to peruse. They've got clothing, jewelry – I heard they have the cutest skirts – plus incense, tapestries, and all those...smoking accessories. The reviews said they are killer, though some items might set you back a bit, especially those vape batteries. Ultimately, it's that whole chill vibe they are going for, unique finds, and catering to that "festy" aesthetic that makes it a pretty unique place.
People seem to rave about the staff; many reviewers point out their helpfulness and how knowledgeable they are. The atmosphere is a big draw, too – described as laid-back, and just filled with good energy, though some reviewers said the customer service sucks. The selection is generally a winner, think clothes, jewelry, incense, and definitely some cool glass pieces if that's your thing. Plus, a lot of customers seem to appreciate that they've been around forever, and it's family-owned.

Premier seems to really hit the mark for streetwear and skate stuff in Grand Rapids, though, seriously. They've got boards, shoes, clothes - the whole shebang, and I hear they actually stock some hard-to-find pieces that you can't get anywhere else, and the sneaker selection is insane, it's not just about skaters, which is cool. It really sounds like that if you're looking for decent quality and you want to support an independently-owned business, this could be a good bet.
People are forever saying how great their customer service is, from quick delivery to really nice employees, they even include thank you notes sometimes! Supposedly, they also run fair raffles and get all the coveted stuff, especially sneakers. What a treat for those sneakerheads out there. Though a small amount has mentioned feeling ignored or slighted by employees. Also, they're reportedly short on safety equipment. Nevertheless, I'm mostly hearing good things.

Leigh's seems like the kind of place you go when you need a little retail therapy; I guess you could say it's a women's clothing store in Grand Rapids that carries everything from jeans and t-shirts to evening wear and cosmetics, and from what I read, people feel welcome when they walk in, which is saying something these days. They apparently stock a bunch of brands you won't necessarily find everywhere else, so you're less likely to end up wearing the same dress as someone else at a party. Plus, they offer skincare and the works - even brow waxing, which is convenient.
The reviews tend to emphasize how much people enjoy the experience, and people mention names like Jen, Katie, Mikayla, Judy, and Allison quite a bit. It sounds as though these stylists are total pros at figuring out what looks good on a person. Customers often mentioned stylists who find some new items that they feel happy about! Lost & Found Treasures of Old and New is this massive, two-story warehouse kinda deal, packed with all sorts of stuff – antique furniture, vintage clothes, cool collectibles, that sort of thing. Seriously, they've got a big thing for mid-century modern which, I mean, is cool. Items are put together in a way that's really pleasing and eye-catching. Tuesday: [9 AM-5 PM], Wednesday: [9 AM-5 PM], Thursday: [9 AM-5 PM], Friday: [9 AM-5 PM], Saturday: [Closed], Sunday: [Closed], Monday: [9 AM-5 PM]
Jonas Paul Eyewear, I think, is a good option if you're looking specifically for kids' glasses—they aren't really a general clothing store. What’s nice is they have a try-on kit service, which is pretty genius because you get to test out the frames in your own house. They seem to have a good selection of styles that aren't, I don't know, totally hideous, which is a plus. Plus, there's something about them donating glasses to people in need, which, I guess, that's kind of cool.
It seems most people think their customer service rocks; folks are saying how responsive and kind the team is, and that they’ll bend over backward to help you. The try-on thing really gets rave reviews, it makes picking the right pair so much easier, people say, for both the kids and their parents. Reynolds & Sons is this long-standing clothing store in Grand Rapids, they're family-owned and have a big selection of shoes, clothes, and accessories; you know, the kind of place that's been around forever. I hear that their real strength is athletic wear, especially when it comes to exclusive drops. From what I've gathered, people consistently rave about the super friendly and helpful staff; customer service seems to be one of their priorities. Many customers love their unique and extensive selection, especially when it comes to limited-release items and athletic wear, it's pretty awesome. They're supposedly committed to the community and know their customers by name, this is great for business. You know, making it feel welcoming so that people want to keep coming back; that's the key, in my opinion. Tuesday: [12-6 PM], Wednesday: [12-6 PM], Thursday: [12-6 PM], Friday: [12-7 PM], Saturday: [12-6 PM], Sunday: [1-5 PM], Monday: [12-6 PM]
Captain Bizzaro's Treasure World sounds like the kind of place I could spend hours browsing. People have called it a "hidden gem" and a "quirky treasure trove" and I can see why if you're hunting for something unique or just wanting a trip down memory lane, it appears this could be the shop for you.

Urban Exchange in Grand Rapids is this consignment shop, and it has a pretty huge selection of pre-owned clothes, going from everyday brands all the way up to designer stuff. Their organizational system is so unique! The way they have everything laid out by color and style? Genius. You can really find women's clothes, shoes, bags, and accessories. While some think of it as the hipster-fied version of Plato's Closet, it's a decent place to hunt down those unique, one-of-a-kind pieces that you don't see everywhere else. If you're looking for a clothing store with a varied mix of styles, it's worth checking out even though parking around that area sucks, though.
What I always hear is how amazing the staff is, especially Stephanie, the owner, people compliment her personalized service all the time! Anthropologie's Grand Rapids store offers a pretty unique experience; they really curate a collection of women's clothes, accessories, home decor, and beauty stuff you won't find everywhere. You can usually find a statement piece, or maybe you need a birthday gift, and it's all presented in a really well-designed space, almost like a proper boutique - it's pretty, at least. If you're on the hunt for a clothing store in Grand Rapids that isn't just another chain, I'd say Anthropologie's worth checking out, especially because their dresses are so cute all year.
It seems people genuinely appreciate the staff at this location; multiple reviewers raved about Jane and Quincy in particular, mentioning how helpful they were with styling tips. The atmosphere and range of products get a lot of love, too, I saw reviewers mentioning everything from candles, to perfumes, to unique kitchen accessories, alongside a killer sale every now and then.
