Okay, so Woodlands Clothing seems like a pretty cool place to grab some unique stuff in Ketchikan. They've got their own spin on t-shirts and hoodies, plus hats and sweatshirts, which is always appreciated when you're looking for something different than the usual tourist trap finds. Apparently, they also stock Alaskan-made candles, even makeup, along with art supplies, which sounds fun, but I hope there is enough space in the store for all those items. The shop is run by local artists, so you are really getting a true souvenir which is nice.

I read a lot of reviews from people who loved the soft shirts and the unique designs they've got, and they said the staff are super nice. They're always talking about the owner, Spring, and how friendly she is, which makes a big difference, if you ask me. It definitely sounds like the kind of place that cares about supporting other local businesses, too, although I did see one random "terrible" review without any explanation, which is weird, but every business has negative reviews, and I would prefer reading about why someone didn't like the business. Someone else mentioned the store's decor is like walking into an Instagram page; sounds like a place I would probably browse for gifts and end up buying something for myself.

Tongass Trading Company in Ketchikan is a sizable retail presence, and you can't miss it because its near the cruise ships. They pretty much sell anything you could want: clothes, touristy things, snacks, all kinds of gifts, and even outdoor gear. It’s got everything, honestly, If you need some good hiking or outdoor stuff, or even just some Alaska-themed apparel, they probably got what you're searching for, and I think they have multiple shops. It's probably the go-to spot for both tourists, plus they ship bulky purchases.

People seem to rave about the service you get at Tongass Trading Company. So many mention how nice and helpful the staff are, even calling out certain employees by name, particularly in the shoe department with a woman named Marsella. The variety is definitely a plus too, I mean folks find everything there from little souvenirs all the way up to high-quality outdoor stuff. The prices seem pretty decent too, especially when compared to other places around there, although a couple of people grumbled they were too expensive and also there were bad reviews saying the product was not good quality.

The Walmart in Ketchikan is a lifesaver, especially if you're arriving off a cruise ship and realize you've forgotten something – plus, they often have some nice Alaskan souvenirs to take home. It's a smaller operation compared to what you're probably used to, but it's still a convenient one-stop-shop where you can find everything from clothing and electronics to snacks and a decent beverage selection. If you're looking to save a few bucks on souvenirs instead of paying tourist-trap prices around the dock, it's definitely worth checking out; they seem to have pretty reasonable prices, almost the same as back in the lower 48. Even though it's not huge, what's there will cover you.

A lot of folks who visit are happy to have it there, especially since it’s a bit out of the way. Reviewers have mentioned really friendly staff, with some even going above and beyond to help you find what you need -- one person needed Liquid I.V. powder and an employee walked them straight to it. Plus, there's usually a free shuttle from the cruise ship dock, which is super helpful, though you should tip the driver! You can find a Starbucks mocha there if you know where to look. I have heard there's not a ton of grocery options, so maybe don't count on doing a full stock up for a huge trip, but it gets the job done.

Inside Passage Harley Davidson in Ketchikan is mostly a clothing and souvenir shop, don't think you're going to find a motorcycle or get repairs done there, but they have a lot of shirts and other branded gear, specifically the "Mother Lode" deal. If you're looking for a place in Ketchikan to buy a Harley-Davidson tee or a little something to remember your trip, it could be worth checking out, even if the prices are a bit elevated. It's convenient if you are walking from the cruise ship dock, but it’s also upstairs.

One thing that keeps coming up is how amazing the staff is, with Ashley getting a ton of shout-outs for exceptional customer service. The shop is also known to adjust their hours to accommodate cruise ship schedules. They do have nice shirts. Some people mentioned wanting more variety, and that the prices could be hard to handle. However, the Mother Lode deal is very popular; it features five limited-edition shirts plus a tote bag and appears to be a fan favorite.
