#1 Apricot Lane Boutique
405 S Ridge Ave, Middletown, DE 19709
Friday: [11 AM-5 PM], Saturday: [11 AM-5 PM], Sunday: [11 AM-3 PM], Monday: [Closed], Tuesday: [11 AM-5 PM], Wednesday: [11 AM-5 PM], Thursday: [11 AM-5 PM]
Apricot Lane in Middletown seems to be where it's at for stylish women. It's got those curated vibes, you know, where everything feels carefully chosen and relatively unique. Word on the street is they carry anything from casual wear to something a little dressier if you have a special event, catering to all different types of looks. They’ve got dresses, tops, jeans, even jewelry and cute little gifts if you need something last minute, so it seems pretty all-encompassing for a boutique. It's definitely a spot to consider when you need a refresh of your wardrobe.
One thing that keeps popping up, from what I'm seeing, is how great the staff is; they're supposed to be super friendly and helpful. It's really all about that personalized shopping experience. Lots of people mention how clean and cute the place is too, which definitely matters. You can apparently find entire outfits put together, which is good for those days when you just can't be bothered. Although a few people have brought up that it can be a bit on the pricier side and that the sizing isn't always super inclusive, many find the quality and styling assistance to be worth it, so maybe its about weighing the pros and cons.

#2 Thekikback
16 N Broad St, Middletown, DE 19709
Friday: [2-8 PM], Saturday: [2-8 PM], Sunday: [Closed], Monday: [Closed], Tuesday: [2-8 PM], Wednesday: [2-8 PM], Thursday: [2-8 PM]
Word on the street is Thekikback in Middletown, Delaware is a big deal if you are in the sneaker game. They've got a serious stash of both brand new and pre-loved kicks, plus all the streetwear that you need to go with that from hoodies to tees. It's a one-stop shop, though, I guess, because they do sneaker cleaning and restoration too. It's known as the best clothing store in DE, apparently.
People are consistently raving about the customer service there, maybe it's the owner, Vez, who’s clearly super dedicated, or maybe it's the really nice and knowledgeable staff. I heard they have a bunch of sneakers, and their prices are fair, but it's the "Saturday Steals" that everyone talks about! Reviewers mention the store creates a real family vibe, and it’s awesome that they give back to the community. There were some negative reviews that mentioned pricing issues when selling and trading, even a comment about a fake shoe, which is a little sus, but, ultimately, the positive reviews are overwhelming, claiming its the most trusted sneaker store in DE.

#3 Goodwill
801 N Broad St, Middletown, DE 19709
Friday: [10 AM-8 PM], Saturday: [10 AM-8 PM], Sunday: [11 AM-7 PM], Monday: [10 AM-8 PM], Tuesday: [10 AM-8 PM], Wednesday: [10 AM-8 PM], Thursday: [10 AM-8 PM]
The Goodwill in Middletown has all sorts of things to look through, which can be a win if you're looking for hidden gems on a budget. They have clothes, books, furniture; the usual suspects, you know? It's worth swinging by more than once to see what's new since some days the pickings are a little...slim, which might be because everyone's trying to find the same deals. Just because you're from out of state doesn't mean you can't find a bargain!
A lot of people say the Middletown Goodwill is really nice and organized; plus, the staff is super friendly. People seem to appreciate the deals, especially on clothes and books, or that random, unique find you didn't know you needed. It's a nice feeling when you donate there as well, if you have stuff to give away, they have a donation drop off. But while some people think their prices are really good, others wish they were lower, with some people believing the prices for some of the items were unreasonable.

#4 Marshalls
669 Middletown Warwick Rd, Middletown, DE 19709
Friday: [9:30 AM-9:30 PM], Saturday: [9:30 AM-9:30 PM], Sunday: [9:30 AM-9:30 PM], Monday: [9:30 AM-9:30 PM], Tuesday: [9:30 AM-9:30 PM], Wednesday: [9:30 AM-9:30 PM], Thursday: [9:30 AM-9:30 PM]
Marshall's in Middletown is a decent spot if you need, ya know, basically anything. They have a bunch of stuff from clothes and shoes, all the way to furniture, and, of course, those fun impulse-buy beauty products. You can definitely find some legit name brands and unique gifts, and usually, you can catch a good deal. I heard their inventory is always changing, which makes it interesting to shop because you never know what to expect.
A lot of people dig their staff, especially employees, Adam and Karen, who apparently are super helpful and friendly. People also seem to appreciate that the store is usually clean and organized. It is a good spot for makeup, skincare, and home decor finds. Even though prices are good and the variety is nice, it's not perfect; I hear sometimes it can be crowded or that the organization can be hit or miss, and I also hear that occasionally the line is pretty long.

#5 Walmart Supercenter
705 Middletown Warwick Rd, Middletown, DE 19709
Friday: [6 AM-11 PM], Saturday: [6 AM-11 PM], Sunday: [6 AM-11 PM], Monday: [6 AM-11 PM], Tuesday: [6 AM-11 PM], Wednesday: [6 AM-11 PM], Thursday: [6 AM-11 PM]
That Middletown Walmart Supercenter is a pretty expansive place, I'm thinking. You can basically get your hands on most anything you need there, from your standard groceries, produce, and deli stuff to household essentials. They also have cosmetics, medicine, a toy section, plus gardening things and, of course, clothes for everyone in the family. It really tries to be your one-stop shop and I can see why it's the go-to for a lot of people looking for everyday necessities, and the fact that they even got clothes, I understand why people look for "clothing store near me" near them.
Honestly, people seem to generally think this particular Walmart is better than most, which is saying something. They definitely like how clean and organized it is, and that the shelves are usually stocked pretty well. I've also heard a lot of folks mention the staff are really friendly and helpful, even singling out certain employees who go above and beyond. The variety of fresh food is often complimented, especially the meats and produce, and the prices, too, are usually a win. Though I've noticed some folks are complaining a little that checkout lines can get crazy long sometimes because there aren't always enough cashiers, or the self-checkout can be limited, but that's to be expected from time to time.
