Rainbow Shops seems to have a rep around Providence as a spot that won't totally drain your bank account when you need some new clothes. I've heard they carry stuff for pretty much everyone in the family, which is pretty cool. They're known for having decent sales, and from what I gather, the selection is actually pretty diverse.
People seem to enjoy the friendly, helpful vibes they get from the staff there, which is always a plus, right? Plenty of reviews mention affordable prices, and I guess a few folks were really happy they even offer layaway. Although, I did see some comments saying the sizing isn't always consistent, so maybe try things on if you can. Overall, it seems like it's a popular choice for those looking for budget-friendly style.

#2 Rainbow Shops
25 Smithfield Rd, North Providence, RI 02904
Monday: [10 AM-8 PM], Tuesday: [10 AM-8 PM], Wednesday: [10 AM-8 PM], Thursday: [10 AM-8 PM], Friday: [10 AM-9 PM], Saturday: [10 AM-9 PM], Sunday: [11 AM-5 PM]
Rainbow Shops seems to be a go-to spot in Providence for a quick fashion fix, if you can believe the hype. The selection spans from tops to dresses and jeans and kids' clothes too, which is convenient, and they've also got accessories, makeup, and fragrances. Some shoppers find the quality surprisingly good for the price point, especially given how affordable it is.
People seem to rave about the staff, and plenty mention the wide range of plus-size options, which isn't always a given. There's always the odd complaint, though: some folks wish the children's section had a little bit more variety, and others think some of the employees could use a class in customer service. I think the return policy isn't that great either. Apparently they closed the fitting rooms permanently, so you're taking a chance on whether or not it fits, but for the most part, it sounds like a decent spot if you need something trendy without blowing your budget.

The Vault Collective in Providence is this cute boutique that carries vintage and secondhand clothing and accessories. They seem to be known for their rad, colorful prints and styles from different eras. I noticed they have a wide selection of clothes, shoes and accessories, which is great if you are searching for something unique.
A lot of people seem to really appreciate the carefully curated selection at The Vault Collective and the high quality of items. The staff's friendliness is frequently mentioned, plus that the store is well-organized. I've heard finding cool pieces is common, and a bunch of reviews say the prices are reasonable. Although I've read a few comments mentioning bag policies or thinking some prices are too steep for secondhand, a lot more folks praise the store. I saw a review that said some customer lost their sunglasses and an associate mailed it to New York. That's nice. Overall, it seems to be a popular spot for anyone into vintage clothing in Providence.

#4 Spencer's

Monday: [11 AM-8 PM], Tuesday: [11 AM-8 PM], Wednesday: [11 AM-8 PM], Thursday: [11 AM-8 PM], Friday: [10 AM-9 PM], Saturday: [10 AM-9 PM], Sunday: [11 AM-6 PM]
Spencer's in Providence? It's a trip, let me tell you. It's got everything, that's what I hear, from clothes and accessories that scream "look at me" to, well, things people buy for adults. If you are looking for something different, you know? A unique item for yourself or for a special someone, it's the sort of store you'd probably have luck finding something.
The thing about Spencer's is the crazy amount of stuff you can find inside; you can find a gift for pretty much anyone, if I'm honest. I heard someone mention anime shirts next to gothic hamster ceramics, and then, yes, the other stuff. I'm told the employees are generally nice, too, and that they are patient which is pretty cool, along with sales happening frequently. Many people find shopping there enjoyable, though some people may express concern with high prices and the allowance of children in store. Some say that it is too crowded as well. It's one of those stores that's just fun to browse, with so many things catching your eye. So regardless, I think it's safe to say that Spencer's continues to be a destination for a lot of people.

Monday: [12-7 PM], Tuesday: [12-7 PM], Wednesday: [12-7 PM], Thursday: [11 AM-7 PM], Friday: [11 AM-7 PM], Saturday: [11 AM-7 PM], Sunday: [Closed]
Parks Plaza in Providence? It's kind of a landmark. It's been around forever, and I heard from my mom she also shopped there as a young adult. They're known for having pretty much anything a girl could want when it comes to shoes, clothes, and, you know, all the little accessories.
Word on the street is that Parks Plaza is a haven, seriously. Apparently, dancers and people who love a good night out swear by this spot because the shoe selection is unreal; some say it's a hidden gem. People stay loyal because they have a rewards program or something along those lines; and even at a great price, the quality is high. And I have heard, the staff working there are total sweethearts, super helpful, you know? It's one of those places that's easy to pop into if you need something quick. But, I think some people mentioned wishing the return policy was a little more, should I say, forgiving, or that occasionally an item might not be the greatest quality.

Monday: [9 AM-5 PM], Tuesday: [9 AM-5 PM], Wednesday: [9 AM-5 PM], Thursday: [9 AM-5 PM], Friday: [9 AM-5 PM], Saturday: [Closed], Sunday: [Closed]
Up2ournecksinfabric in Providence is supposed to be a cool place to check out if you want custom clothing and personalized gifts. They do t-shirts, sweatshirts, PJs, but also stuff like custom cups and even stuffed animals. The word is their designs are pretty unique, that materials they use is top quality, and that shipping is fast!
From what I can tell, customers are totally raving about the customer service, which, honestly, is almost more important than the product, am I right? People seem really happy with how well they bring custom designs to life, especially for things like bachelorette parties or family trips; they can make the perfect design. Plus, everyone mentions how comfy the clothes are and how quickly orders arrive, which is always a win. I heard a few people have had issues with the descriptions of certain items, mainly the pajama sets because it wasn't clear that you're supposed to order the top and bottom separately. There were some scattered reports of slower shipping or that getting a response from customer service took awhile, but they're mostly positive reviews.

Aéropostale in Providence seems to be a popular spot if you're looking for reasonably priced, trendy clothes. They have a really good range of items, from what I've heard and seen online, and people especially love their sales. I think most people find it to be a reliable place to grab some new pieces without completely breaking the bank, which, let's face it, is always appreciated.
What really stands out is that people rave about the quality of Aéropostale's t-shirts and polos – apparently, they fit really well. Plus, they have this massive selection of accessories that's a hit with shoppers of all ages, because who doesn't love a good accessory? The location is super convenient, too, being right off the highway, and the free parking for a couple hours is a lifesaver. Though, not all experiences were great -- I saw some reviews mentioning customer service hiccups, with a few customers noting rude employees or inconsistent closing times. Despite some folks' issues with customer interactions, the store still sounds like a win for anyone wanting to dress well without spending too much.

Express, which is located in Providence, has a ton of trendy clothes for everyone, not just a specific gender. They definitely seem to focus on keeping up with current trends, because they have a lot of different items, suits, jeans, professional clothing, you name it. What’s also nice is that they're known for unique styles, also they are know for their return and exchange policy is great.
People really seem to rave about the customer service at Express, because I saw a lot of shout outs in reviews, like, someone named Jolene got a lot of praise. Someone else mentioned Anthony and Skylar, who are so helpful. It seems people really like getting help from them in finding the right stuff, especially when they get deals and style tips. There are other good points, someone said they love their stretchy men's jeans. I saw also that some people think the clothing is a little too expensive, and somebody said that a staff member named Miguel was being rude.

The Nest in Providence seems to be a total gem for unique finds; people are always talking about it. What really grabs my attention is how they focus on having stuff for everyone, size-wise, which you just don't find everywhere, especially in vintage shops. Apparently, they also do tailoring – which is so clutch for getting the perfect fit – plus they host workshops and even clothing swaps.
From what I gather, the selection at The Nest is really well curated, and people find those staple pieces you just can't live without. Beyond just clothes, they sound super committed to sustainability and building a community; how cool is that? Charlotte and Danielle, the owners, consistently get shout-outs for being genuinely kind and dedicated. The new location seems to be a hit as well – spacious and pretty. I definitely need to check it out at some point.

#10 Rainbow Shops
1925 Pawtucket Ave, East Providence, RI 02914
Rainbow Shops is a Providence clothing store, and I hear they have a pretty good range of trendy and wallet-friendly clothes that are fit for most of the family. From what I’ve heard from friends, you can usually find jeans, tees, and dresses. Apparently, they also carry brands, maybe even some athletic wear. It seems convenient if you need a place to grab a bunch of different stuff for your wardrobe, all in one fell swoop.
People seem to think that Rainbow Shops is pretty awesome because of the value and the selection that they get. Some customers online claim that the store is neat and organized and easy to shop in, which is a plus, right? People also say the staff is generally friendly and helpful; which is always a bonus when you need to ask someone for help! It's also said that some of the clothes look way more expensive than they are, and people always get compliments on them! It's not all positive, though; some folks haven't been thrilled with the quality or the staff behavior. Plus, a few have brought up it can be crowded or that the advertising feels misleading. Still, a lot of people I know consider it a go-to place for affordable, stylish clothes.

#11 Old Navy

Old Navy in Providence, located in the Providence Place Mall, is a decent option when I need something new to wear. It's mostly known as a spot where you can find a bunch of clothes without spending too much, specifically because they are always running some type of sale, specially during the summer and fall for clearances, though their prices aren't as great without sales. Their style is pretty casual.
I've heard that some people think the staff is super helpful, particularly one person mentioned a manager named Carly, which I think makes shopping easier if you have trouble finding your size. And generally they are considered nice and the place is clean. Overall, customers seem to appreciate the variety of clothes they stock, good for baby clothes, and that the items are durable; a couple of people even mentioned the store being a favorite. However, the selection can sometimes seem a little limited, not to mention that Old Navy's shirts tends to shrink after washing.

#12 Hollister Co.

Hollister, you know, it's a pretty popular spot in Providence if you're looking to refresh your closet. They've got a ton of clothes, catering to, well, lots of different styles for both guys and girls. It’s great if you're aiming for that current, trendy look, and I think it's cool how they’ve got a wide selection of various designs and things, especially at price points that don't make your bank account cry, right?
What’s appreciated is that there is an employee around, ready to assist in finding different sizes. It’s been said they're also helpful in finding styles, and matching items bought at other stores to their clothes, they really seem to be going for that above-and-beyond level of service; also, the vibe, the music and all that is enjoyable. Plus, I’ve heard the sales, mainly on their pants, are actually killer. It is true though, I read a review where they mentioned the music sometimes being a little too loud and their sizes going too fast, you know? It's a constant battle of chasing down the right fit!

Providence has a Marshalls, and it’s got a little bit of everything, I swear. From clothes to shoes, plus home stuff, it’s kinda my go-to when I need a little retail therapy. Prices can't be beat so it's worth a shot to see what they have to offer, you never know what treasures you might uncover!
Honestly, the Providence location is pretty solid – I've heard people say it's clean and organized, which is always a win. People rave about the great prices on designer brands; if you're patient you can always find something you didn't know you needed. I do hear the parking situation isn't amazing and sometimes the checkout line, but hey, the amazing deals can totally be worth it if you plan accordingly. The associates are often praised for being really helpful, too!

The North Face at Providence Place? It's definitely a go-to if you're looking for solid outdoor gear, particularly anything that'll keep you warm during a New England winter. They do have a good selection of jackets, backpacks, and all that jazz, but fair warning that you're gonna pay a little more.
What I've heard is that their customer service is pretty on point; employees there are usually really helpful, especially if you're trying to figure out what coat works best for you. Plus, they've got a rewards program, and I guess sometimes there's decent discounts. Word on the street is some people dig their return policy also. On the other hand, not everyone is thrilled with the prices, which can be pretty steep. I also saw some comments about the selection, or maybe it's the older styles specifically, being somewhat limited. Still, I've heard more positives than negatives, so its probably worth it to check out.

#15 Torrid

Torrid is pretty much the go-to around here if you're looking for clothes when you're plus-size and don't want to be stuck with, you know, stuff my grandma would wear. They actually have a decent selection of stuff, from dresses to leggings, and it's usually pretty on-trend, which is awesome. Word on the street is their quality is pretty good too, and I've heard a lot of people say their customer service is top-notch.
Seriously, I've heard people just rave about the employees at that Torrid, saying they're always so friendly and helpful when you're trying to find something that looks amazing. The store itself is apparently super clean and organized, so you're not, like, digging through piles of clothes, which is nice. Honestly, sometimes it feels that they get it, the only place you can reliably find cute clothes when you're not a size six, and can actually experiment with fashion and gender. Though, to be fair, a few people have said that sometimes, the clothes there can be a little pricey, especially when you consider how well they hold up after a few washes - they do have a lot of sales though. Also someone did say that an employee was rude to them when they returned an item, but I guess you are gonna get the odd bad apple, right?

#16 Banana Republic

Monday: [11 AM-8 PM], Tuesday: [11 AM-8 PM], Wednesday: [11 AM-8 PM], Thursday: [11 AM-8 PM], Friday: [10 AM-8 PM], Saturday: [10 AM-8 PM], Sunday: [11 AM-6 PM]
Banana Republic, the one near me in Providence, seems to have it going on, from what I've seen. They’re known for good quality clothes, shoes, and those accessories you never knew you needed. It's a relief they have non-iron shirts; I swear my iron hates me. You can find anything from dresses that are actually stylish to legit suits and cute jewelry sets too. I also heard the customer service is on point, plus the layout is supposed to be super organized.
People are really vibing with the quality of their stuff, particularly those non-iron shirts, which some say are the best ever. And it appears it isn't just shirts; the jewelry, dresses, and suits receive compliments for their classy but unique styles. Several people have also mentioned the store has this calming atmosphere, which makes shopping a lot more enjoyable, right? However, I saw some rumblings about their return policy and maybe some feeling like the prices are too high, but all in all, it seems like a good option for those who like a little retail therapy.

#17 Hot Topic

Hot Topic in Providence has an amazing selection of, well, everything! You can find all sorts of fan merch, from music to movies to TV and anime, it's honestly a great spot if you're into any kind of pop culture thing. They’ve got band tees which is always a plus in my book, and a surprisingly decent amount of goth-inspired stuff. It's probably the most consistent place I've found to get a slightly edgier look, and the prices aren't terrible either, especially if you catch a sale.
The staff is also usually pretty friendly, which definitely makes a difference when you're browsing. A lot of people really dig the overall vibe. While it can get a bit cramped in there, I can't knock it too hard, the selection of graphic tees and niche items is seriously great. I've heard some people have had issues, but they do a fairly decent job of keeping up with current trends while still sticking to their, for the most part, original style. They are known for their customer service if you can find an employee.

American Eagle in Providence is a pretty popular store, I think. They've got a good selection of clothes, especially if you're looking for jeans or just some cute tees, maybe even a gift for my nephews. It's definitely a place I feel you can find something for different ages, which is nice. There's almost always some kind of sale happening, so you can usually snag a decent deal; I've heard their credit card makes things even cheaper.
From what I've seen, most people seem to have good experiences at that location. Lots of love for their jeans, apparently the fit is great and the colors are unique and good quality. It seems that the staff are helpful, which can make a big difference - that tan lady with black hair that was a "pit bull mom" was helpful and sweet, which can make shopping even better. But it does seem to be hit-or-miss, since one customer couldn't get an even exchange, which sounds frustrating.

#19 Victoria's Secret & PINK by Victoria's Secret

Victoria's Secret and PINK is pretty popular around here, seems like everyone I know shops there, it's Providence's go to for women's stuff, and it specializes in bras, underwear, and lingerie. Honestly though, they have much more than that; think t-shirts, bags, flip-flops and then you get into their beauty lines, with perfumes, body sprays, makeup, and even skincare. I know people rave about their sales and claim that their quality is worth the money, though.
I hear all the time that it's a great shopping experience, where the store is well-stocked and clean, which makes things easier to find, plus their staff is usually helpful, I believe. Apparently everyone is obsessed with their body sprays, lotions, and perfumes, they just need to make sure the scents aren't discontinued because people get upset! Getting a bra fitting there is a game changer, though some people have had issues with customer service, especially around the holidays when it is extra busy with long lines. But for what it is, they have some really good stuff, and when you can find a sale it makes it that much better.

Urban Outfitters in Providence has some pretty cute stuff, right? It's got kind of a reputation for being on the pricier side, but I've noticed they do have decent sales fairly often; definitely worth checking out the clearance rack first thing if you're trying to save some coin, though. It is on Thayer Street which probably is a big factor for pricing, too.
I hear from people that they like all the different things you can find there, clothing wise, home decor stuff, and they're always changing their selection. Customer service seems to be pretty solid, which I appreciate. Some have complained about the dressing rooms not being kept the cleanest, and online shopping mix ups but most customers come away satisfied when they shop in-person.

H&M in Providence, it's a pretty solid option if you're looking for clothes, makeup, and accessories all in one place. You can find stuff for just about anyone; guys, girls, even the kiddos, which is a win. The prices are definitely a plus for me, I'm always trying to find a good deal. It's a good place to grab those basics that you need that won't fall apart after a few washes.
I hear people compliment H&M for carrying a big range of sizes, which is crucial; everyone deserves clothes that fit well, right? Plus, they're always having some kind of sale, so you can snag something cute without totally emptying your wallet and use your gift card. Some folks have complaints of some employees who needs better customer service skills. Also, I've heard the fitting rooms aren't always the cleanest which is always a drawback. Overall, though, it seems most people still think H&M is worth checking out, and their men's section is on point too.

Franklin Rogers Ltd, located somewhere in Providence, seems to be pretty well-known for men's formal wear, if you're into that sort of thing. I hear they carry a range of options, from suits and tuxedos to shirts, ties, and all those other accessories guys wear to look fancy, suiting many events. Apparently, they also do tailoring, I guess for those dudes who really need that perfect fit.
A lot of folks seem to love Franklin Rogers, especially mentioning the good customer service; with some noting the staff is friendly and helpful. Plus, the selection of quality suits at decent prices gets shoutouts, what I've seen anyway. One reviewer even said how they made all the guys at their wedding "feel good and look good," which is sweet. Although, I did see some complaints about order issues, which, ugh.

You can find some good deals, and the selection is pretty good, it can't hurt to check it out. I think they really got it when they started offering items from Tv, i mean who wouldn't want that?!
Customers really dig Boscov's because of the awesome deals and the variety of stuff they carry. The staff are usually pretty nice, which makes shopping way easier. The store is generally clean, well-organized, and they even offer free gift wrapping which is rare these days. I guess some people have griped about the checkout lines and finding employees available when they are really needed, but honestly, most folks seem to be pretty happy with the place, so worth checking out.

Macy's in Providence is a place you can find a lot of different stuff, from clothes and shoes to fancy perfumes plus stuff for your home. They usually have good deals, I think it makes it a solid choice. I've heard people saying you can find some especially good winter clothes there, though to be honest it's been a mixed bag.
You know, what really stands out about Macy's, for me at least, is that the staff often are really helpful, there were some real standouts who went above and beyond, which is so appreciated. From what I've heard, most find the store itself is well-kept too, which is always a plus. Even though there are some bad experiences (and I can't dismiss those), it does still feel like a pretty classic department store, where you can find a little bit of everything you want.

Windsor has become quite the buzz around Providence for dress shopping, I've heard. They supposedly have a crazy selection of dresses and other clothes that are pretty affordable, which is always a win. From what I'm gathering from people who've actually been in there, they really seem to focus on trendy pieces that won't completely break the bank, especially if you are after a semi-formal look.
Everyone raves about Windsor having dresses for all sorts of events, there's prom and cocktail attire, and just all sorts of cute stuff available. Plus, a lot of shoppers are reporting that the staff are pretty helpful and will really try and assist you find the right size or help you put an outfit together. I've heard some rumors though that some folks had a less-than-stellar experience; apparently, a couple of customers thought that certain staff members were being not nice but even though that's happened, people still say this store offers a nice overall selection and experience.

ZARA in Providence is pretty popular; they've got some really cute stuff, especially if you're trying to keep up with the latest trends. They sell clothes for basically everyone – guys, girls, kids – and it seems like you can usually find what you're looking for, even if you're after a specific fit. I've also heard they carry a pretty good selection of shoes and accessories, so you could probably put together a whole outfit there, which is cool.
A lot of people seem to really dig their clothes for the quality and fabric, plus they seem to have pretty unique items. And who doesn't love a good sale? They do those sometimes, so that's a plus. From what I understand, the store itself is generally kept pretty clean, and it's well-lit, which can make shopping easier, you know? A lot of the guys love the cologne selection too, I believe. Sizing can be a bit of a crapshoot, and I guess finding stuff in XL or XXL can be tricky, so that's not ideal for everyone. I've seen people complain about the customer service being hit-or-miss, too, but that's really anywhere, you know? Still, a lot of people in Providence seem to really like shopping there, so it must be doing something right.
