#1 Top Drawer Boutique
198 Liberty St NE, Salem, OR 97301
Monday: [11 AM-7 PM], Tuesday: [11 AM-7 PM], Wednesday: [11 AM-7 PM], Thursday: [11 AM-7 PM], Friday: [11 AM-7 PM], Saturday: [11 AM-7 PM], Sunday: [12-6 PM]
Top Drawer Boutique, located nearby in Salem, seems like a cool place to shop. From what I hear, they've got a real variety of items there, mixing new stuff with some really neat secondhand finds. The store also seems to support local artists and offers consignment options, which means you can find some truly unique pieces that you won't see anywhere else, isn't that neat?
The buzz about Top Drawer is mostly good, people keep saying they have a wide selection and it’s easy to find cool gifts, clothes, or decor; it's the kind of store where you can lose yourself browsing for hours. It sounds like the staff's really friendly and ready to help, and customers have found some amazing deals, even designer stuff at bargain prices, or so I've heard. Plus, its atmosphere is often described as cute and inviting, though a few people felt a bit watched, and the no-return policy isn't for everyone. Still, it does seem to be a favorite with people in Salem.

#2 Petrichor
220 Commercial St NE, Salem, OR 97301
Monday: [12-5 PM], Tuesday: [11 AM-6 PM], Wednesday: [11 AM-6 PM], Thursday: [11 AM-6 PM], Friday: [11 AM-6 PM], Saturday: [11 AM-6 PM], Sunday: [12-5 PM]
I've heard really good things about Petrichor, that men's clothing store in Salem, and apparently they've moved to Capitol Menswear on Commercial, I think it is? They're supposed to have this killer selection of menswear that you can't really find anywhere else around here, specializing in cool, current stuff, so you don't have to drive all the way to Portland to get something decent, which, yes, is a big plus. From what I hear, they don't just stock clothes, either; they also have accessories, wallets and belts, and a whole line of grooming stuff like beard oils, soaps, and even candles, how cool is that?.
Honestly, the reviews are glowing; it sounds like their customer service is on point, everyone saying the staff are super friendly and can actually help you find what you need. And people are constantly raving about the quality of, practically, everything in the store. They're really committed to the community and do some charity events from what I read. Also it sounds like the "vibe" of the place is really great and they do special orders for events, and will help you with color pallets. Somebody even said their husband, who's in international beard competitions, is obsessed with the beard oil, and that's saying something. I'd consider giving the place a shot if I had someone to buy clothes for.

#3 Gracie's Closet Inc.
956 Commercial St SE, Salem, OR 97302
Monday: [11 AM-7 PM], Tuesday: [11 AM-6 PM], Wednesday: [11 AM-6 PM], Thursday: [11 AM-6 PM], Friday: [11 AM-6 PM], Saturday: [11 AM-7 PM], Sunday: [11 AM-7 PM]
Gracie's Closet Inc. in Salem has loads of stellar reviews, and it's easy to see why. They’re stocked with clothes for basically everyone--men, women, kids--and supposedly have styles all over the map, you know, from trendy looks to vintage finds and even some brand-name stuff mixed in. Plus, I've heard they sell shoes, jewelry, and accessories, it could really be the only place you'd have to go.
People are apparently loving the good vibes at Gracie's Closet, praising the staff for being friendly and helpful, so that's always a plus. A clean, well-organized store and comfy dressing rooms doesn’t hurt either, right? A lot of customers mention finding stuff they absolutely adore every time they pop in; from adorable clothes and jewelry to those killer shoes that elevate your outfit. The children's section seems to be especially popular, with tons of good choices, I guess that's good for moms. Word on the street is they also have a fair trade-in policy for store credit - that could be pretty good too.

#4 Work-N-Wear
1869 25th St SE, Salem, OR 97302
Monday: [9 AM-6 PM], Tuesday: [9 AM-6 PM], Wednesday: [9 AM-6 PM], Thursday: [9 AM-6 PM], Friday: [9 AM-6 PM], Saturday: [10 AM-5 PM], Sunday: [12-4 PM]
Word on the street is that Work-N-Wear in Salem is a solid spot for work clothes, especially if you're in the market for boots. They carry a good range of brands too - you know, Carhartt, Danner, Georgia, the usual suspects. Honestly, it sounds like they've got the bases covered if you need something durable that'll hold up on a job site; a proper one-stop shop for anyone needing reliable work attire.
What I keep hearing is how helpful the staff is, which is always a plus. People seem to appreciate being able to try stuff on before committing, which makes sense considering workwear isn't exactly cheap, plus, there are good prices, too. Reviews suggest you can rely on them for quality—or at least, you could in the past, if long-time customers can be believed. If I had to guess, though, maybe the women's selection could use some improvements, though; it's not always easy finding decent work clothes that actually fit well and there aren't enough varieties for women.

#5 Zumiez
401 Center St NE #2287, Salem, OR 97301
Monday: [9 AM-7 PM], Tuesday: [9 AM-7 PM], Wednesday: [9 AM-7 PM], Thursday: [10 AM-7 PM], Friday: [10 AM-7 PM], Saturday: [10 AM-7 PM], Sunday: [10 AM-6 PM]
Zumiez in Salem is a place people go to, if you're looking for skater-type clothes, shoes, or even skateboards, but I heard the prices is kind of expensive. It seems lots of people find stuff there that's right up their alley though, and they seem to be selling quality skateboards.
Apparently, a real strength is the staff; reviewers call out specific people, Gwen, Koi, Lizzy, Carlos, and even a short guy with a beard, for being attentive and really helping you find what you need. I mean, the reviews made it sound as if they go out of their way to help people order stuff, give advice and I've read they're pretty patient. Though some customers have complained that some of the employees dress normal, so you can't tell who works there, and there's mention about employees talking about weed at the register.

#6 Alteraciones Eva
Flea market, 2135 Fairgrounds Rd NE, Salem, OR 97301
Monday: [Closed], Tuesday: [11 AM-5 PM], Wednesday: [9 AM-5 PM], Thursday: [9 AM-5 PM], Friday: [11 AM-6 PM], Saturday: [9 AM-6 PM], Sunday: [9 AM-6 PM]
Alteraciones Eva seems like a pretty cool place; I've been meaning to check it out. It’s supposedly this indoor marketplace near me in Salem, and the reviews are all over the place, but mostly good. People rave about the authentic Latino gifts and how it's kind of a cultural hub, some even calling it a "mini Tijuana," which, I gotta say, is intriguing. They sell a huge variety of things from dvds and clothes to appliances and jewelry, plus apparently there are food stations? The layout sounds chaotic in a good way.
From what I've read, the atmosphere is friendly, and some customers noted the great service. I saw reviews praising the food, prices, and the sheer variety of vendors, with most reviewers mentioning reasonable prices. Obviously, it might be a little run-down; a few people complained about the building being old and musty, and one person mentioned it was dirty, but most people overlook that because it's more about the experience. I'm thinking it’s def worth a trip, maybe with cash in hand because someone said the ATM charges fees.

#7 Maurices

Maurices in Salem is pretty great; they’ve got a decent selection, from what I've heard. It seems they really try to cover a range of sizes, which is always a win, and people are always saying how cute their clothes are. Word on the street is that the quality is pretty decent, especially if you can snag stuff on sale, because who really wants to pay full price these days, am I right?
What I hear most often, though, is that the staff is super friendly and helpful, that Kim especially is such a gem. Finding people that don't hover and push you to buy things in stores is pretty awesome, you know? Plus, I've heard the store is usually pretty clean and organized, which is a major bonus. Not everyone has had a perfect experience, apparently some felt overlooked, and some find that the music too loud, but what are you gonna do. Overall, it sounds mostly positive because everyone wants a little retail therapy now and then.

#8 Big 5 Sporting Goods
2245 Lancaster Dr NE, Salem, OR 97305
Monday: [10 AM-8:30 PM], Tuesday: [10 AM-8:30 PM], Wednesday: [10 AM-8:30 PM], Thursday: [10 AM-8:30 PM], Friday: [10 AM-9 PM], Saturday: [9 AM-8:30 PM], Sunday: [9:30 AM-7:30 PM]
Big 5 Sporting Goods near me in Salem is a pretty solid choice when you're looking for athletic gear. You can find all sorts of stuff there, from athletic shoes that, from what I've heard, are priced well, to all the equipment and fitness stuff you could need. The selection is pretty extensive, and really a one-stop shop for sporting goods; they seem to have fair prices, too, which is a plus.
What people really seem to appreciate is the staff, because they're helpful and friendly. Plus, I've read that the return and exchange process is simple which is always a relief. It looks like they're willing to hold stuff for you, too, just in case you need that extra day to decide. Frequent sales, something most reviews mention, seem to be a big draw, even if some complain about inconsistent stock levels, or feel some employees could be a bit more attentive. Despite those minor hiccups, this is still the place many go to for their sporting goods fix.

#9 rue21
480 Center St NE #238, Salem, OR 97301
Rue21 in Salem seems to be a pretty popular spot, I guess because they've got a huge selection of clothes that don't break the bank. They're always running some kind of sale, which is great when you're trying to update your wardrobe without emptying your wallet. Plus, it sounds like they actually carry a decent plus-size selection, which isn't always the case, a lot of places don't do that, so that's a big win. I've also heard they have perfumes; always important to know, right?
What I've been reading are mostly good things, that a lot of the staff are friendly and make people feel welcome, even loved; one person wrote about being insecure with their body but the staff made her feel beautiful with her new outfits. Even better, they hold onto lost items! Some people have mentioned issues with the clothes not lasting forever or feeling somewhat cheaply made, and some complaints about sales signs, but overall, it seems most people leave pretty happy, especially if they find some good deals and some new perfume.

Gen X in Salem seems to be pretty popular for a variety of reasons. I've heard they have a really extensive selection of clothes, from casual everyday wear to stuff that's good for hitting the dance floor, which is cool. Plus, you can find some fun accessories and jewelry there, which I always appreciate. And, a lot of people say they got great deals.
The price points at Gen X makes it a great find. Plenty of shoppers say they're happy with the service. Folks have found everything they needed for back-to-school shopping, a win for all. The store sounds easy to get to, with parking being ample which it always nice. I heard they have a good selection and great prices.

#11 Hot Topic
480 Center St NE RM 2288, Salem, OR 97301
Monday: [11 AM-7 PM], Tuesday: [11 AM-7 PM], Wednesday: [11 AM-7 PM], Thursday: [11 AM-7 PM], Friday: [10 AM-8 PM], Saturday: [10 AM-8 PM], Sunday: [11 AM-6 PM]
Hot Topic in Salem has really nailed the alternative scene, carrying a pretty comprehensive collection of band tees and those pop culture items that always seem to be trending. They've got a good thing going, especially if you're looking for clothes that aren't exactly mainstream. Their selection is known for being super diverse, like they've got jewelry for piercings, which is a good thing, and plus-size clothes for my curvy girls and a lot of fandom merch.
Honestly, one of the best things you'll read in the reviews are the excellent reviews regarding the customer service; the staff are often mentioned as being genuinely kind and helpful! People are consistently raving about how employees go out of their way to assist customers, even helping pick out gifts, and it's nice that they can find the things that you want and need. It's pretty cool that they embrace everyone's unique style. Although some might find some items a little pricey and shipping times a bit delayed, Hot Topic sounds like a solid place to shop, overall.

Sierra is that store in Salem, y'know? The one that's always got decent deals. It has gotten popular because they have a little bit of everything, specializing in outdoor gear alongside workout clothes and general apparel, which is great if you are into that. The prices are pretty good and, since they carry name-brand stuff, you can get some good quality items.
People seem to really dig Sierra because it’s a great spot to find outdoor equipment or even just a new dog toy. The prices are right, and I’ve read about their staff being generally helpful, which is always a plus. Apparently, a good amount of customers go there because it reminds them of a discount outlet, but for camping or just general recreational items. The store seems pretty well-stocked; what's not to love? However, I’ve also heard whisperings regarding its organization and some of the customer service issues, but I guess there is something for everyone to complain about these days.

It's got a little bit of everything if you're looking for different things, from clothes and shoes, all the way to some jewelry. I heard there's some home decor things there, and even pet supplies if you're interested.
People seem to find good stuff there since you can find quality brands at prices that are lower than normal. It looks like a lot of new items come in constantly, so people always find some new thing to buy or look at. Plus, a lot of the reviews say the staff are friendly, and it's a good thing when it's clean and not messy, so you can always find a good bargain there.

#14 Spencer's

Spencer's in Salem is a total trip, I swear. They've got everything from band tees to, well, adult novelties, and a bunch of random stuff in between. I think they're one of the few places that still stock all those gag gifts, you know? The kind that are perfect for white elephant parties or when your friend has a bachelorette party.
Honestly, people seem to dig it; I've seen a bunch of comments about how cool the staff is. Apparently, they're friendly and helpful when you're trying to find something, plus, they're really discreet if you are buying something a little risque. On the downside, some people think it's overpriced, and I've heard that some find the service is hit or miss. Generally, though, it sounds as if it’s a pretty fun place to browse, particularly if you're on the hunt for something that's definitely out of the ordinary. It is definitely not a place to take your children to without supervision, I mean, unless that's your thing, whatever.

Scrubs & Beyond seems to be *the* place to go for medical attire around Salem, especially if you need a good selection. From what I hear, they've got all kinds of scrubs; every color and size. Apparently, the material is really durable and they have designs that don't look totally frumpy, which, let's be honest, is a huge plus.
The staff is often mentioned in the reviews, particularly Lori, Gisselle, Amanda, Jonna Lee, and Kolby. It's awesome to hear that people working there actually care about helping customers. You know, going the extra mile to find the right fit or even set aside stuff in advance. I've also noticed that some facilities and students can get discounts, which is always a bonus. It does seem they might need to up their game with men's scrubs; and I'm seeing reports of inconsistent discount stuff, though overall the positive reviews outweigh any downsides.

#16 Top To Bottom
2717 Lancaster Dr NE, Salem, OR 97305
Monday: [10 AM-9 PM], Tuesday: [10 AM-9 PM], Wednesday: [10 AM-9 PM], Thursday: [10 AM-9 PM], Friday: [10 AM-9 PM], Saturday: [10 AM-9 PM], Sunday: [10 AM-8 PM]
Top To Bottom in Salem? It's a pretty solid spot for snagging trendy and reasonably priced clothes for practically anyone. You can find so many different styles, I mean, they have everything from casual tees to dresses you could wear to a more formal event. Plus, the store has a ton of accessories, too, with things scarves and jewelry, and even makeup--it's really a one-stop place. They're also known for doing custom printing, which honestly is kinda awesome since it is really convenient.
You know, a lot of shoppers have mentioned how much they appreciate the wide range of options, not to mention the prices are generally good too. I keep hearing about how great their trendy clothing selection for teens and 20-somethings are but they are great if you stay on top of trends in your 30's. People also seem pretty happy with the custom printing service, especially 'cause they get personalized stuff without waiting ages and its affordable, so that's cool. I will say I have heard that the sizing can be off, some items are of low quality, and customer service might need a little work, especially if they want you to get stuff printed. Regardless, lots of people still shop there, which means the pros probably outweigh the cons for most shoppers.

#17 Victoria's Secret & PINK by Victoria's Secret

Victoria's Secret and PINK is a pretty popular shop around here. They've got all the usual stuff: bras, undies, a bit of sportswear, and, of course, their lingerie. Plus, they sell some beauty bits and bobs too, which is handy. Most of their stuff is fairly stylish, and I think they really cater to women who want something cute, sexy and comfortable.
I read that a lot of people compliment their staff; apparently, they're super helpful when you need a bra fitting or just can't find what you're looking for. Some women mentioned they got amazing help picking out bras, and the staff made it less awkward. Also, the bundle deals they have on panties and bras are popular, but some people said that the discount wasn't applied at checkout. Still, it sounds mostly positive, since the stores is typically clean and the products feel well-made, which is a good thing.

#18 Mr. Formal Salem

Monday: [11 AM-7 PM], Tuesday: [Closed], Wednesday: [11 AM-7 PM], Thursday: [11 AM-7 PM], Friday: [11 AM-7 PM], Saturday: [10 AM-6 PM], Sunday: [12-5 PM]
Mr. Formal Salem, the formal wear store near me, gets quite a bit of buzz as the go-to place for dressing up. Honestly, they're known for a pretty solid selection of suits and tuxedos. You know, everything you might need for big events, proms, weddings - the fancy stuff. They seem to have a knack for keeping customers happy when helping to pick out the perfect ensemble to purchase or rent.
From what I've gathered from reviews, the staff there is super accommodating. Michelle and Hollie are frequently mentioned for their friendliness. I've read anecdotes of last-minute requests being handled smoothly. The store even helps out students by donating tuxedos, which is really great. While some people voiced concerns about COVID-related delays or sizing issues, that does happen with every business. It does seem that most of the time, they go out of their way to ensure everyone leaves looking and feeling their best.

#19 Ross Dress for Less

Ross Dress for Less in Salem is definitely a store to consider if you're on a budget. They usually have a decent selection, from clothes and shoes to home goods and sometimes even random things for pets. It's not always super organized, but if you're willing to dig, you can find some pretty sweet deals compared to department stores.
Honestly, I've heard a lot of people raving about the prices. I see people find designer brands marked down significantly, along with household things that don't break the bank. Social distancing wasn't an issue, I've heard they have screens at checkout which is good. However, I've also heard they can be slow, so it's maybe not the place to go if you're in a rush and need to be quick. Still, I'd check it out if you want to save some money. I bet you will find a deal or two.

Macy's in Salem is definitely one of those retail staples that's been around forever and seems to have something for everyone, between the clothes, shoes, makeup, and stuff for your house. It’s a decent option for finding a little something. I heard that they have a pretty wide selection for guys, girls, and kiddos. It's convenient when you need, let's say, a dress for a wedding, or even just some new socks for your little one. If you’re looking for a one-stop kinda thing, this is a place to check out.
A lot of people seem to appreciate how the store is set up, which is important when you're trying to quickly run in and out. They have some name brands, plus, I've heard customer service is pretty on point, depending on who you ask. I have seen good sales at Macy's, and some say that there are good deals in the clearance section, if you're willing to search. It sounds as though maybe staffing can be spotty at times, or that they need more workers. Still, it seems like for a lot of people in Salem, Macy’s is a solid place to find what they need.

Ross Dress for Less in Salem seems to be a go-to for affordable finds, mainly name brands. You can find clothes for everyone in the family, plus shoes and a bunch of accessories. I heard they also carry home goods, toys, and even hobby stuff, practically making it a one-stop shop.
From what I can gather, people really dig the deals, especially when it comes to scoring name-brand items. The variety is a huge plus, from clothes to home decor, and shoppers rave about getting things for way less than you'd pay somewhere else. A few people have mentioned having good experiences with the staff, saying they're friendly and helpful. Plus, apparently, checkout is normally pretty quick, which is always a win. However it does depend on the day, supply, and their stock management; I hear that isn't too impressive these days.

American Eagle in Salem is my go-to for jeans that actually fit; especially now that they stock 28-inch inseams, which is a total win for shorter people. What's great is their stuff is pretty trendy and they seem to have something for everyone, from teens to adults, and I've heard they run amazing sales on basics like men's underwear and T-shirts. You know, those things are expensive as it is? They also have some really cute clothes, though maybe they could expand their size range a little bit.
I mean, people always rave about the staff there, and it sounds totally deserved. I hear Britney, Sharina, and Jasmine are amazing, super friendly and always ready to give you a hand, and I know one person mentioned getting congratulated on her engagement! Although, maybe the staff is a little too attentive at times? I've heard complaints. Overall though, between the nice employees and the quality clothing, it comes across as one of the better spots in Salem to pick up some new clothes.

#23 Target
3790 Center St NE, Salem, OR 97301
Monday: [8 AM-10 PM], Tuesday: [8 AM-10 PM], Wednesday: [8 AM-10 PM], Thursday: [8 AM-10 PM], Friday: [8 AM-10 PM], Saturday: [8 AM-10 PM], Sunday: [8 AM-10 PM]
The Target store in Salem has a lot going for it, and its range of product offerings is pretty diverse. I hear they've got basically everything, which makes it a super convenient shopping stop—electronics, clothes for the kiddos, plus the pharmacy and cafe. Overall, it sounds like a pretty solid place to grab whatever you need.
What I keep hearing, though, is that the staff are really friendly and the store's kept tidy, bright, and easy to navigate. The app, for what it's worth, gets good reviews, too, since people say it's simple to use. It does seem though, that they are trying to keep costs competitive by pushing people to order things online to save money. Apparently, a few folks have mentioned delays when waiting for help with locked-up items, and it does sound as if the cafe has had a slow start in the mornings. I'm not going to comment on if they are following the rules for Oregon, but I will say that reviews say that the store has been inconsistent about this, with people going maskless in the store, which can be concerning for some customers.
